How Wuhan Coronavirus is keeping the Diamond Princess hostage

Diamond Princess, a cruise yacht and a big one while you are at it. It is stranded on the shores of Japan and not in a good way. Authorities in Japan have essentially taken the said Yacht hostage and for a good measure. They are legally doing it (more on its legality in the ensuing words) but is it ethical? Perhaps not! It might be turning into a nightmare on Japan waters even though the ship originates from a European country. You are thinking what is the reason behind this Japanese government sanctioned hostage taking. Well, the reason behind this taking is the Wuhan Coronavirus. In the ensuing words, we tell you how is this possible:

A quarantine measure

It has come to the light that the ship was stopped before its passengers embarked on Japan’s surface. Around 500 cases were diagnosed with the Wuhan Coronavirus on this ship. The first one to test positive was an 80-year man traveling from Hong Kong. In an effort to dispel the disease from its land, the Japanese Government has made its best effort to quarantine the ship. Quarantine is a process which is made to separate and contain the affected individuals from the general population who are not affected. This at the very least slows down the spread of the disease.

But is it necessary?

This could have been a good call if the said case was on land but it is not. Experts believe that keeping people in the ship, especially the ones who are not even suffering from the Wuhan Coronavirus is exceptionally dangerous. This is highly insensible as they have basically made the occupants be stuck in a container with nowhere else to go. More spread is likely due to an outbreak of this nature.

What should actually be done?

[caption id="attachment_2656" align="alignnone" width="1024"]Wuhan Coronavirus The best thing to do as per what experts believe is evacuate the affected in an actual quarantine zone on the surface gradually (but not that slow) and carefully. - Getty Images.[/caption]
The best thing to do as per what experts believe is evacuate the affected in an actual quarantine zone on the surface gradually (but not that slow) and carefully. Through checking of infected people should be done and then they should be let go from the ship. This has to be done, so the spread does not reach the whole ship.

Conclusion:

If clear steps are not put into place in the nick of time, this may become the biggest outbreak of Wuhan Coronavirus. It is of the essence that proper precautions are taken to ensure the safety of the affected and also the unaffected occupants of the ship. It might be wise of Japan to keep the ship quarantine for its safety. This should not be the case for people on board.
