2020 is already onto a rough start. People are already talking about World War 3 happening (insert your favorite emoji here). A lot of news this year is surrounding things about or related to vaccines. This subject can be at times controversial but most of the times pretty informational. It as an informational news is important to be in the minds of mainstream public. Already there is so much resistance to vaccines even though it is a scientifically proven method to eradicate contagious disease. And, there some news down below about 5 newsworthy information about Vaccines in 2020:

  • Rise of Measles in 2019

New cases of measles is spiking.  Last year alone, around 140,000 cases of death have been reported to be caused by measles. Many are children below the age of 5. All of this can be attributed to the public en-mass not having their babies vaccinated and low-coverage of vaccine awareness and stations. Thus, this is especially the case with developing countries or countries with substandard healthcare systems. Also, these two, many times, are not mutually exclusive. This year is its highest level of outbreak since its successful eradication in previous years.

Anti-vaxxers are a thing now. Because they think it is against our natural disposition to use vaccines (much like abortion). Because of this, they think these vaccines, which are essential for life-saving treatments and precautions, hurt their believe. A lot of them spread their misguided philosophy on social media. Impressionable young minds are usually the targets.
 
  • An anti vaxxer was diagnosed with chickenpox 

 
Ironic, isn’t it!Just recently, a popular anti vaxxer was having chickenpox. This is from Kentucky, USA where this anti-vaxxer, a teenager sued the school where this person was studying because of vaccinations. After an outbreak of chickenpox among 32 students of Our Lady of Sacred Heart/Assumption Academy. In Kentucky, this person was having chickenpox. What goes around comes around.
 
  • United Nations wars of stagnation of vaccination

 
Vaccination is not at the level it should be. The vaccination rate, overall, is seriously stagnating. Almost a year ago, around 20 Million children missed out on vaccinations. Essentially, these were potentially life-saving vaccinations and children missed out on these vaccinations. WHO (World Health Organisation) has said there is a "dangerous stagnation of global vaccination rates, due to conflict, inequality and complacency".
